Enter and View - North Somerset General Practice
Healthwatch North Somerset receives a lot of feedback about GP practices across North Somerset. Generally the feedback gathered shows more positive feedback than negative.
Healthwatch North Somerset Prioritisation Panel recommended further investigations into GP practices with a focus on good practice and improvements made following patient feedback.
Individual practices were visited between November 2017 and April 2018, in total we visited 28 GP practices and individual reports for each site have been published.
Over 150 recommendations were made in the reports including
- Displaying staff names
- Comments / concerns / complaints
- Patient Participation Group
- Access to buildings
- Access to and provision of information
- Providing water for patients
- Waiting room chairs
- Privacy
- Mission statements
- Hearing Loops
- Cleanliness / safety
- Carers
- Dementia Friendly
A mystery shopper exercise was also conducted alongside the visits. The "mystery shopper" reviewed information about out-of-hours services, complaints, catchment areas and registering as a new patient.
