Long Ashton Surgery - Enter and view findings
Following an enter and view carried out by authorised volunteers from Healthwatch North Somerset, the report has now been published
The Enter & View team made notes of all their observations during the visit. These observations help shape any recommendations put to the practice to help them improve the service they offer the public. Some of the observations made in the Long Ashton Surgery include
- The area outside was observed as being well kept and tidy
- They have a small car park at the rear of the surgery, although no disabled spaces are available
- Reception desk is low and open
- The reception area is open plan and the waiting rooms are away from this area which reduces the risk of being overheard at the reception desk
- Several chairs in the waiting rooms had arms to help less mobile patients#
- The waiting area had plenty of room for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
The Enter and View team made several recommendations which are outlined below. More information can be found in the full report below
- Ensure a hearing loop sign was visible
- Put comment forms next to the comment box
- Signs for the toilets and baby changing facility need to be visible
- Include Carers information on the waiting room TV's
- Opening times need to be accurate on the website
- Out of hours information needs to be up to date on the website and include the information for NHS 111
It is important to note some of these recommendations were mentioned on the day and actioned immediately by the staff.
